Derbyshire Motorbike School is firmly established as Derbyshire's Premier Motorcycle Training School and your number one choice for all your Motorcycle training needs. Mark and his team conduct motorcycle training courses ranging from Basic Introductory Lessons, CBT (Compulsory Basic Training), Restricted (A1/A2) Licence and the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) for those wanting a full unrestricted motorcycle licence. DMS also offer advanced courses and their popular Back to Bike course for those returning to motorcycling. All training is delivered to an exceptionally high standard by friendly fully qualified DVSA motorcycle instructors and is available 7 days a week.

Basic Introductory Lessons

If you have never ridden a motorcycle a basic 1 hour lesson will get you riding and give you the necessary skills to be able to go forward and take your CBT (Compulsory Basic Training).

CBT (Compulsory Basic Training)

If you wish to ride a motorcycle on the public highways you must first take and complete a CBT course.

Full Motorcycle Licence Training

  • A1 Licence

    For riders aged 17 to 18 years of age you can take your test on motorcycles up to 125cc or 11kw (15bhp) in power.

  • A2 Licence

    For riders 19 to 23 years of age you can take your test on motorcycles up to 35 kw (47bhp) in power.

  • Direct Access

    For riders over 24 years of age (or riders who have held an A2 Licence for 2 years) are eligible for the Direct Access Scheme which will enable you to ride a motorcycle of any capacity and power output.

A2 to full A upgrade training, Advanced training and Back to Bike courses also available.
